We will be housing a majority of the NACURH delegates in the East and West Area sections of residence halls on campus. These halls are centrally-located with regard to conference venues – enabling easy transitions between buildings for things like socials and hospitality rooms.
Each residence hall has a reception desk, lounges, kitchens, community TV rooms, laundry facilities, telephone service, vending machines and in-room refrigerators. Hall security is 24 hour lock-down – doors are opened only by a key card.
Most residence halls have community bathrooms. They are usually located either in a center of a wing or at the end of a corridor. All Community bathrooms are single gender and the number of bathrooms varies depending on the size of the hall or wing/floor. They include multiple sinks with mirrors, separate showers (with curtains), toilet stalls with doors. The number of toilets, sinks and showers also varies, depending upon the number of resident rooms per wing/floor. Unlike other housing sites, Coronado Hall contains suite style bathrooms, but with the same amenities listed above.
ADA Accessibility
The University of Arizona Residence Life and the NACURH 2009 Conference Staff are committed to ensuring that, to the extent possible, our housing facilities, programs and services are available to ALL students. Reasonable accommodations are available to meet the special needs of students. Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to, wheelchair accessible rooms/bathrooms, rooms equipped with fire alarm strobe lights, attached suite-style bathrooms, specific room types or hall style assignments, and assignments to specific areas of campus. The majority of the halls that will be used for this conference—particularly the newest residence halls and those located in the East area— are fully ADA compatible.
Wireless Internet Access
All residence hall rooms are equipped with three wireless networks, and all conference delegates will have access to at lease one of those networks. Likewise, the entire campus is equipped with high-speed wireless internet that will be available throughout the duration of NACURH 2009.
